"An acceptable two-part story through which, although the situation is not wholly convincing as shown and therefore does not get across with any "grip," there is a deeply interesting human drift. It is freshly conceived, clearly told, never drags and has a good romantic atmosphere. The truly interesting figure in it is the slavey, played by Norma Talmadge. She doesn't look anything like a slavey, except in the first scenes; but she puts over the emotional content of the developing situation strongly and makes a very pleasing human heart portrayal.
