When Two Play a Game

Archibald Atwater's wife keeps his home so crowded with women knitting socks for soldiers that he finally decides to escape from his unpleasant environment and suddenly becomes a victim of aphasia, or loss of memory. He accordingly makes arrangements with his friend Charley, and goes to New York without letting anyone else know where he has gone. Mrs. Atwater is at once worried and fears her darling has met with foul play, until Charley rings up and abruptly tells her Archie has been seen in New York acting strangely. Unfortunately, Archie runs into an old maid cousin whom he grossly deceives by pretending he does not know her. The good lady is frightened and at once telegraphs Mrs. Atwater that her husband is at the St. George, acting very strangely. Charley arrives at the hotel, and the two friends makes the acquaintance of two fair damsels, with the idea of taking them out to dine. But wifey arrives in time to overhear part of their conversation, and is greatly enlightened thereby. To teach her hubby a lesson, she plays the "lost memory game" herself, makes him worried, then jealous and after leading him a wild goose chase, both speak what is on their minds, then "make up."
