""Ashtray from the Steerage" is an oddly named comedy starring Billy Bevan and Louise Fazenda. Sadly, while the film has recently been restored and looks pretty good, for a comedy it doesn't have a ton of laughs in this Mack Sennett production. Billy and Louise play immigrants who have come to the United States to start a new life and act as caretakers for a rich woman's child. On the boat is a smuggler who is trying to sneak a single bottle of Scotch into the US, as it is during the Prohibition era and alcohol is forbidden. The problem with this one is it just isn't ..."
