"Blarney made in 1938 is part satire of the partitioning of Ireland and part comedy crime caper. Set in a divided Ireland in and around the border customs post, where duty is slapped in anything. Billy Brannigan (Jimmy O'Dea) is a travelling salesman who sells cough medicine in the border region. His suitcase is mixed up with that of a pair of English jewel thieves. Now the jewel thieves try to get the suitcase back from him. Luckily Billy finds romance from a barmaid who watches his back. There is also rivalry between the Garda patrolman and the RUC policeman over the love of a woman...."
