"Boogie-Doodle (1948) *** (out of 4) If there was ever a film that delivered the goods on what a title promised it was this Norman McLaren short. Basically we have a boogie song playing in the background as various shapes take form on the screen. McLaren was the master of experimental images so trying to describe his work is often hard to do. The best way to break it down is that there's what appears to be a ball bouncing around to the music while various other animated images are moving. There's certainly nothing ground-breaking here and it's not going to appeal to everyone..."
