"In a great bit of wartime fun, "The Draft Horse" shows what might happen if a farm horse wanders into its local recruitment office in a fit of patriotic fervor. Chuck Jones always was a master of animation and proves it here yet again, aided and abetted by Mel Blanc's talented vocal abilities as the horse of the title who is put through a battery of tests to prove his battle-worthiness. This cartoon has been credited as being the inspiration for Chuck Jones' rakish style of humor. Prior to this, he had been making cartoons in the Walt Disney style that were softer, with more gentle overtones such as Sniffles the Mouse.
