Great piece of Austrian movie history

"This movie has a wonderful cast. Some of the greatest Austrian actors gathered to do this great movie; Paula Wessely, her husband Attila Hörbiger, Hans Holt and a young Oscar Werner, just to name a few. The movie tells the history of a Vienese family from the late 1880s to the year 1948. The "Engel mit der Posaune" (The angel with the trombone) is the sculpture over the entrance to the family's house in Vienna. If you get the chance to watch this movie - don't hesitate. It is a fine portrait of a upper-middle-class family in Vienna, with some very touching scenes...."
