When Dev Anand gave Guru Dutt a break as director to make Baazi and then also Jaal, Guru Dutt had promised to Dev that when he turns producer he will take Dev to star in his production and Guru Dutt kept his promise, he produced C.I.D. and took Dev Anand as the main hero. Then Guru Dutt also gave his assistant Raj Khosla a break to direct C.I.D. but sadly Guru Dutt dint get a chance to direct Dev Anand.
