"I am a sucker for Schlager films, and with the 15 or so Schlagers I could have had an amusing 90 minutes. But why was that flimsy story added? Why not a film with only Schlagers. Without story we would have been spared quite a number of the cast: Teddy Stauffer - ex band leader of the 20's and 30's - acting as if he is in constant urinary trouble; boxer Bubi Scholz, who should have been k.o.-ed before shooting started (maybe he was, but managed to keep moving); Giorgia Moll playing the pretty girl without being convinced of it (she is right). At least there are Trude Herr and Rudolf ..."
