"I remember watching Arch go up as my grandfather worked on the elevators,I have seen this movie many times (my grandfather is in the movie)and it really captures the feel of the times. The tension felt in St. Louis at the time; the worry that the legs of the Arch wouldn't meet at the top, that the legs wouldn't stretch far enough apart to put the keystone section in, that St. Louis would be a laughingstock. This movie really captures the spirit of the period of construction, the wonder of the engineering, and the pride of the men who worked on the Arch. The story covers the entire pe..."
