"It´s the first Kaneto Shindo film I saw in my life, and I must confess it didn´t surprise me a lot. I´ve read other reviews about Shindo´s films, like Onibaba, and I thought Kagerou would follow the same line of this famous film. It´s the story of a policeman called Oishi, that investigates the murder of Otoyo, a woman who was in love with him. But during the investigation he discovers some of her secrets, like her affair with the three men who killed her husband and the idiot son she abandoned in the island she was born. Curiosity: Juzo Itami (director of Tampopo) is one of the film´s actors...."
