After viewing concert footage, police identified Alan Passaro, a local Hell's Angel, as the man who stabbed Meredith Hunter. He was arrested and charged with murder. Hunter brandished his gun in front of a woman in a white shirt, which allowed the outline of the weapon to be visible on camera. Passaro was acquitted on grounds of self-defense.
