"Princess Chang Peng is a tragic tale performed Cantonese Opera style. The two leads are played by female actors and the direction is flawless. A poetic tale about true love and the sacrifices one makes to obtain it. John Woo tries none of his fancy tricks on this presentation, he just captures the essence of the play on film. He doesn't try to change or alter the story either. There is a well staged battle scene involving warring armies in the middle of the picture. I wish the print that I saw had english subs. I watched a trailer before the movie started and it had english subtitles. F..."
