"I was seduced, as high school student, by Ioan Slavici novel inspiring this film. I saw the film as far adaptation, at the first sight, by the images proposed by book. But Mircea Veroiu, like Calin Ghibu, offers precise definition of a world dominated by money, cold pragmatism, intense dramas. The beauty of this film is reflected by inspired cinematography but it is just remarkable for the wise reflection of nuances crafting each character.
