"Justine and the Whip (1975) ** (out of 4) A real bastard of a movie with Jess Franco and Joe D'Amato sharing directing credit. In 1975 Franco started shooting a version of de Sade's Justine, which was to be a remake of his 1968 film. The production ran out of money with only a handful of scenes shot so the production company brought in D'Amato to edit together this footage with two other Franco films (Midnight Party and Shining Sex). The end result is a real mixed bag because it really doesn't work as a film but it does work as a "greatest hits" of various sex..."
