"I watched this film and just accepted it as it was intended, with no preconceptions and no knowledge of the cast. It was sweet and moving. I would hope most people will do the same. Is the thought that Liberace was the "star" a problem for some of you? Is the cast of amateurs a problem? I should hope not. While Brooke Adams was filming Key Exchange in August and September of 1984 in New York City, about halfway through filming Key Exchange, Brooke invited about 20 cast and crew members of the Key Exchange movie set over to her apartment in New York City to watch a TV movie she was starring in called "Special People" which aired on television for the first time on Tuesday, September 11th, 1984 on CBS from 9-11 PM EST. (This information was revealed by Brooke herself in an article of Details in the October 1984 edition of the magazine which features Brooke on the cover.)
