Directors Janne Kuusi and Arto af Hällström originally worked together in the television adaptation Parveke (1982). Their documentary Laulu (1986) also features material (shot on film) from the 1985 stage play "Zloty Burlesque", from which a separate television adaptation (shot on video), The Tragicall Historie of Hamlet, Prince of Denmarke (1994), was also released almost ten years later.
