I watched &quot;Koniec sezonu na lody&quot; (The End of the Ice Cream Season) because of the participation of many popular actors in it. The plot takes place in a small seaside town when the last tourists are leaving because of the end of the season. The owner of an ice cream shop sends his wife to Warsaw. He is to join her in a few days. Unfortunately, he will never see her again because he is murdered in his house. The only policeman in the town, played by Wojciech Pokora, takes up the investigation, and he is assisted by a young policewoman from the Voivodeship Police Headquarters (Anna Frankowska-Teter). The material for the film seems promising, and we have a long list of suspects and some decent scenes from everyday life in the town. For me, this film was successful enough to watch it to the end, if only because of the good performance of the actors. As a crime film, however, it was unexciting and boring; there were too few comedy elements in it, and the social scenes, although quite decent, were also not very groundbreaking. In the era of the final years of the Polish People&apos;s Republic, corruption was very common, and honest people were rather in the minority, so in this respect, &quot;The End of the Ice Cream Season&quot; did not show anything new. For me, the movie never quite worked in any of its aspects, although overall I think it&apos;s worth watching mainly for the participation of so many great actors.
