I feel ashamed of being Brazilian after watching this movie!
by priscillagrrr2003-02-14

"This is a ridiculous film! Not only is there no good dancing , as the title suggests, and moronic dialog, but the writers obviously did not research Brazilian culture whatsoever before making this crappy movie. I'm Brazilian, born and raised, and believe me on this one, there are NO princesses there. Not even anything close! It makes me angry that this movie portrays my country and culture so wrong. Asides from that, the movie makes me laugh because everything is so exaggerated and corny!..."

💡 Did You Know?

The film was based on an idea writers John Platt and Roy Langsdon came up with while driving to producer Menahem Golan's office. The script was commisioned in December 1989, written in 10 days, in production by the end of January 1990, and hit theaters on March 17th, all in an attempt to beat Lambada (1990) to theaters. Both films were released on the same day.
