"SANGO MALO is an African film, made in Cameroon, that will, frankly, probably not be seen much because of that. The film has a beautifully realized character development between its focus character, Malo, and his seeming-opposition, the Headmaster of the school in which Malo works. By the end of the film, both characters have taken unexpected turns in strong, realistic ways, yielding an atypical yet acceptable vision of characters who only begin to recognize their faults. In some ways, it is a revolt film, but for being a film about approaching a governmental monster, it is as introspective..."
