Not enough sci-fi -it&apos;s porn after all

Mixing sci-fi with porn can be fun (and usually opens a film up to a whole new audience), but HER TOTAL RESPONSE fails to deliver. It&apos;s just another stillborn gimmick added to the XXX stew.

Bad guy Herschel Savage is the chief sexist of the piece: he&apos;s installing microchips into women&apos;s backs to convert them into sex slaves. Not exactly BATTLESTAR GALACTICA fodder, but closer to STEPFORD WIVES time. Premise is a bit fuzzy and confused, in that some women are robots while others are apparently normal until converted by the chips into something like an android or cyborg. 

The anonymous pornographer&apos;s idea of comedy here is for a piece of metal to be found in a guy&apos;s mouth performing cunnilingus on a robot girl. It&apos;s not amusing like a Shaun Costello movie, but does feature his patented suck-two-cocks-at-once motif in one scene.

Film goes nowhere and is merely repetitive concerning its central premise. The girls are merely okay looking, with Savage reunited with his WHITE FIRE co-star Lisa Marks, an actress who apparently got a big buildup but didn&apos;t make it. Chip technology employed looks merely like a circuit board (rather large at that) stuck onto the lady&apos;s back near shoulder level - hardly impressive.
