"Even though the ballad is but a legend, this puppet movie is a greater period piece than most live action medieval-movies. The authentic costumes and characters really add to the sad tale... On the sound side it is truly incredible, with well known voice actors giving it their all, and a truly memorable music experience. The movie's runtime isn't that long, but a lot happens in the short timespan, and with a solid pacing nothing really feels rushed, although i would have loved to see more of Holger's journies through early medieval Europe.
