"A superb French soap opera that traces the life of a family of landowners over several generations. All the actors are impeccable and brilliant and the realization discrete. The story is often moving and the pageant seems perfect. I saw this soap opera as a child, with my family, and I saw it recently with immense pleasure. The memory that I had was not betrayed. The title, which is the name of one of the main characters in the first part of the series, does not reflect the idea that the whole story is a family saga...."
