7/10

"This film has a simple storyline which revolves around a family that likes to have fun. NZers (particularly Aucklanders) will understand some of the humour better, but it is genuinely funny for anyone. It embraces Westie (West Auckland) culture in all it's leather wearing, bike riding, booze and rock fuelled glory. The characters are great, they have strengths and weaknesses and they love to party. Not brilliant, but not bad. A very entertaining movie, 7/10...."

💡 Did You Know?

Was initially restricted by the New Zealand Office of Film & Literature Classification to adults over 18 because of what the Office considered "conspicuous and substantial" drinking of alcohol without showing the consequences, and also for a scene where some characters throw a barbecue's gas bottle onto a fire and watch it explode. The film's distributors appealed to the Film & Literature Board of Review, and the rating was subsequently reduced to R15. Producer Steve Sachs thanked Chief Censor Bill Hastings for the free publicity.
