"This is one of those movies that's funny but only if you don't put too much thought into it. "The Breaks" resembles so many other hood movies but it bears the strongest resemblance to "Friday". The plot revolves around Derrick (Mitch Mullany). His mama (Loretta Devine) is threatening to throw him out unless he returns that Sunday evening with a carton of milk. Sounds simple, right? Not when you're Derrick. He falls into all sorts of misadventures along the way and runs into all kinds of strange characters like an oiled up old man in a Speedo and a cowboy hat..."
