"After the success of the revived What's My Line in syndication,in 1969 Mark Goodson and Bill Todman brought back two of the most popular shows, To Tell the Truth and Beat the Clock. Both had good, healthy runs, though TTTT ran for nine years and Clock five. Richard Dawson met future game show announcer Gene Wood on an episode of Beat the Clock (1970). Dawson helped a young contestant transfer a candy cane in each other's pockets, from apron to apron. This was before they worked together, as host/announcer team on the long-running ABC game show, Family Feud (1976).
