Routine drama.

KP Ummer and Srividya have an illegitimate child Ambika . She was working in his plantation. Initially he disowns the child but Srividya leaves her baby with him for a few days at the insistence of his loyal servant Bahadur . As expected he falls in love with the baby drawn by affection and takes her in . He still refuses to accept Srividya as his wife . She comes back and starts living as a maid and child minder in his house . Their paths keep crossing but he remains aloof .

Ambika grows up to be a spoilt brat despite his strict up bringing .

She is in love with Sukumaran in college days . After a few duets and promises of a golden life together , quietly he leaves her and marries some rich girl. Shocked and Heart broken she takes to drinks and bad company openly .

Srividya watches all this unable to help her own daughter . Ambika ill treats daily . She suffers all silently without revealing that she is her mother keeping her promise to Ummer .

Ambika&apos;s second suitor is Soman . He comes to work in her plantation . After a few meetings , Initially hesitant , he tells his intentions about her to both father and daughter. Ambika rejects him saying he belongs to another religion ( Hindu ) though her father is impressed with him and his hard work .

Ummer tells her a bit about her birth . Hasty and abrupt she leaves home in a huff trying to search her own self .

She returns back after a few days , Meanwhile Suku maran has redeemed as he lost his wife and fortune and is back to repent .

Soman has converted to Christianity and is running a blind orphanage in their town .

Ummer finally tells her about Srividya and also accepts her as his wife . Ambika is united with Sukumaran and her biological parents.

Soman takes celibacy and becomes a life long server of god . Sukumari and Lalitha shine in their soft side short roles .

A lot of footage is shot in the orphanage and it tugs at your heart strings .

Srividya does not need any make up to make her look pretty . She shows all emotions finely .

Ambika is superb as a confused young brat . She wears nice midi skirts and is drunk or sulky most of the time . Soman with his soft eyes is perfect for the role of a church priest taking care of blind children . He invokes a lot of sympathy and affinity . Sukumaran is fine for the role of a nonchalant lover initially and then a reformed serious repentant lover .

Over all a fine family fare involving a lot of sacrifice and love .
