"I blame "The 2nd Voyage of the Mimi" for getting me interested in the Maya. I was always interested in Archaeology. But when I saw the Mayan sites on that movie series in junior high, I was really awestruck. Now....I am just one semester away from getting my degree in Anthropology/Archaeology and I will be going to the Yucatan for the second time this coming May to help excavate a Mayan site. :-D This past May I backpacked around the Yucatan and saw just about every Mayan site you can think of. Weather kept me from getting to one, but I hope I'll be able to go back and try agai..."
