The producer had signed Mehul Kumar and Anil Kapoor for the film. Anil backed out because he felt he was doing too many double roles. Govinda and Aamir Khan were then approached. They had date hassles. Thats when Boney Kapoor suggested Sanjay Kapoor do the film. Mehul Kumar did not like this as he felt the character had to be mature. Mehul asked to see a film of Sanjay Kapor so he could he confident. Mehul eventually decided to leave the film as he was no longer comfortable working with the Kapors. Mehul felt it was Boney Kapoor was trying to play dirty.
