"Bruce Brown was a surfer who decided to make movies about his sport. In doing so, he became a superb cameraman and editor. Here we see his techniques -- and hear his indifferent narration. It's sincere and informative, but lacks pep. Here we see a couple of the short films he produced along the way: THE WET SET, in which he and a couple of his buddies fly to Japan to parade past a couple of standard, touristy images, and become the first people to surfboard there; and AMERICA'S NEWEST SPORT, which is about skateboarding, using the innovative skateboards designed by surfboard maker H..."
