"I don't know the identity of the chap wielding the fishing rod in this picturesque flick from American Mutoscope & Biograph but he looks like an upper-class Captain Birds Eye with his handsome white beard and military bearing. This isn't really a particularly good film even for 1901, but at least it's trying to show something other than a guy standing by the riverside on the wooden end of a piece of glorified string being dunked in the water.
