Computer Animation Classics

A great collection of films from CGI&apos;s earliest days!

One of the most fun things of my young life was when PBS aired one of their rare Computer Animation specials. I was born at roughly the same time as the genre, so I watched it develop alongside me and was introduced to the fantastic creations of imaginative and innovative minds at a very young age. Odysee3D&apos;s collection &quot;Computer Animation Classics&quot; is a selection of short films that have contributed to the development of computer animation in some special way or another, be it innovative technique, masterful storytelling, or just downright beautiful imagination. While it has some that I don&apos;t think belong here, or excludes others that have every right to be (you can&apos;t please everyone,) this is an outstanding collection of works by the talented pioneers (not least among them, the late Robert Abel) that are collectively responsible for bringing such a marvelous medium to being.

This isn&apos;t for everyone, as some may not be interested by the subject material, but for people who enjoy artistic expression in all (or most) of its forms or for whom (like myself) this sort of thing holds special meaning, then by all means get yourself a copy! It contains such classic films as &quot;Breaking The Ice,&quot; &quot;Fair Play,&quot; &quot;Chromosaur,&quot; and many others. These films are as good now as they were 15 or 20 years ago, and it&apos;s a real treat to see how things were done back in the beginning!
