"Everything from the visuals to the music and story just holds up. It's nostalgia that is repackaged and remade, adding and changing from what came before it to grow its own thing while respecting the essence of astro boy. It's been over 20 years and I still have this shows poster. The recent Pluto anime is darker then this show. But this show still has serious and emotional episodes, while keeping some of that loveable camp that is Astro Boy. You can screen shot so many scenes from this series and just use it as a wall paper. I wish more people knew about this show, it's simply ..."

Whereas the character of Professor Ochanomizu had his name changed to "Dr. Elefun" in most American retellings of the Astro Boy saga, this series instead calls him "O'Shea", a well-known Irish name which happens to sound like an abbreviation of his original Japanese name.
