&quot;07 zglos sie&quot; (Call 07) is the most famous Polish crime series. Each of the 21 episodes tells a separate story and mystery that the main hero, Lieutenant Borewicz, played by the excellent Bronislaw Cieslak, tries to solve. The topics of individual episodes are very diverse, and the obligatory criminal plots (mainly murders and thefts) are usually accompanied by Borewicz&apos;s love conquests. The decently presented Polish realities of the eighties, showing both the lives of the rich and the everyday lives of the average citizens, are the background of criminal cases. The pace of the action is very often sped up by car chases. The character of Lieutenant Borewicz, created by Bronislaw Cieslak, is colorful and interesting, even though he has been stripped of all gadgets, and his method of work is intellect and solid detective work. For me, the only worthy successor to &quot;07 zglos sie&quot; in democratic Poland is the series &quot;Kryminalni&quot;. However, when I want to watch a decent Polish crime drama on TV, I usually go back to Lieutenant Borewicz. Using the analogy to cars, the series &quot;Kryminalni&quot; is like an old car, while &quot;07 zglos sie&quot; already has the value of an antique.
