"I much prefer the UK version of Kitchen Nightmares vs the US version. Not as dramatized, and feels a lot more wholesome and real. I find that both Ramsey & the restaurant owners/employees in the UK are a lot more respectful than the US. Sometimes it's nice to watch him genuinely help a restaurant and help them with the menu, than hear him constantly scream and hear dramatic noise effects. That's just my opinion though, watch it for yourself!..."

During filming of the pilot episode, the producers still hadn't decided what to call the series, and were considering various choices including "Kitchen S.O.S." and "Ramsay to the Rescue". During the filming of the follow-up visit to Bonaparte's, Gordon Ramsay exasperatedly commented that "This is a living fucking nightmare!" after finding the restaurant in an even worse state than when he first arrived, which gave the inspiration for the show's final title.
