Good Documentary, great footage, but narrator tries too hard to dramatize

"It's a solid documentary, great archive footage and great interviews (band of brothers style). What I didn't like was the over-the-top dramatization from the narrator. He tried too hard to make it sound as though they are about to die every minute, even though they are obviously still alive to give you first hand accounts. Covering a significant world war II battle with archive footage is dramatic enough on its own. Also, to the commentator that was wondering whether this documentary would ever be released on DVD. I bought it on DVD the other day, it's called Attack on Japan - ..."

The action is based on first-person accounts from survivors. Craig Santy, the producer/director on the project actually found the few remaining Japanese survivors, and went to Japan to interview them. After months of negotiations, the Japanese agreed to participate. For the first time, their stories are told, alongside those of the American Marines who finally won the battle, but at an astounding price, paid in human lives.
