A young Chinese woman talks about the problems of donating blood when viewed against a traditional Chinese upbringing in the UK. Blood is precious and should only be giving to those within the family circle and not to any stranger who wants it. She tells about how she had to overcome family reservations in order to help the greater good by becoming a blood donor.

Shown as part of a series of short films that were made to raise awareness of the importance of giving blood in the UK (Blood Matters), this film is an animation like the others and it&apos;s main aim is to educate while also hoping to entertain. In terms of subject matter this film was similar to Blood Sutra in that it looks at a problem that in common in the UK  the low numbers of blood donors within ethnic minorities communities. However this film manages to be a lot more personal and insightful and therefore be much more interesting and educational than the former film. The narration feels very natural and it is well-informed and doesn&apos;t just apply generalisations but instead gets under the skin of the community well considering the short running time.

The animation is a good mix of live photographs, animation and calligraphy that captures the spirit of the Chinese community without making it feel tacky or clichéd. A good film that is interesting and nice to look at.
