The final episode, The Christmas Sketchbook, was scheduled to be recorded in November 2005, but Ronnie Barker told producers in the Summer, it needed to be recorded immediately as he knew he was gravely ill and unlikely to survive until then. It was hurriedly arranged and recorded in August at BBC Television Centre. Ronnie Barker died less than two months later in October 2005.
