Neal is giving a dinner and has invited Edna, his sweetheart, and her father. He is to have turkey as the main course and orders one from the butcher. Bill, a pickpocket, has just stolen a necklace and the police and detectives are looking for him and the jewels. He sees them coming and tries to find a place to hide the necklace. There is no place near so he is forced to slip it inside a dressed turkey on a stand nearby. The police search him but they can not find the necklace. When Bill again looks for the turkey it is gone. It has been sold to Neal's butler who takes it home. In the meantime, in the apartment above, a policeman and his wife are giving a dinner to the captain, and have ordered turkey. The crook traces the turkey to Neal's house and steals the one belonging to the policeman. He is surprised when he does not find the jewels. Neal gets his turkey off the dumbwaiter and is astonished when he finds a beautiful pearl necklace in it. The crook sees that he has taken the wrong fowl and then he steals Neal's turkey. Neal realizes that if he doesn't get a turkey he will lose out with Edna's father and he tries to get one. He attempts to steal the one from the policeman without success and then he has to try to catch a live one. He locates one but the owner sees him take it and sets out after him with a gun. He finally loses that turkey and comes home to find that the butler has secured another one. Everything is finally straightened out all right for everyone. Neal helps capture the crook and returns the necklace to the police, winning the hand of Edna, and the consent of father.
