Half-hearted all-sex from Wicked

I enjoyed many of Michael Raven&apos;s features back in the day when he was riding high with various labels like Sin City and Wicked, but filling in the blanks now that his career is over definitely takes the auteur down a peg. &quot;American Dreams&quot; is a pointless wall-to-wall sex vignettes release that oddly wraps itself in the American Flag.

Not out of patriotism or chauvinism but rather to have some lame hook on which to hang the disparate footage. Seven sex scenes running 78 minutes in total are completely pointless, but with minor Americana elements. 

Katsumi arrives from Vietnam by way of La Belle France nude in an American flag humping a faceless guy (BTS shows it&apos;s Kris Slater hiding from the camera&apos;s prying eye). Most of the other action is outdoors with some attractive locations wasted. Julia Ann in Western garb rides a horse well before humping Trevor Zen, but Zen gets no screen credit apart from a super during the BTS. Julia&apos;s back with a lesbian clinch sure to please the fans featuring Stormy Daniels, both of them outfitted as &quot;firepeople&quot; to use Stormy&apos;s BTS turn of phrase.

Big busts dominate here with lovelies like Austin Kincaid matched with equally top-heavy Lexi Marie. Raven&apos;s inevitable show-off segment titled &quot;Home Movies&quot; has him accurately simulating the look of scratched 8mm footage throughout the BBQ picnic foursome of Randy Spears, Steven St. Croix and imports Melissa Lauren and Katja Kassin. No anal permitted, probably a letdown for fans of the Euro stars.

Feature ends with a whimper, typical of &quot;who cares?&quot; pornography. Raven can be counted on for style and technique, but this empty exercise is mighty disappointing.
