Have I Got News For You has been the gold standard in the UK because it is extremely funny with great captains, and often excellent guests who are sharp about the current events of the day. On Tuesday, 2nd August 2022, the British Broadcasting Corporation announced that after 17 years on air the comedy panel show is to end. A final run of 8-episodes will be broadcast in Autumn 2022. The BBC commented that they had taken the difficult decision to end the programme to make way for new shows. Dara O'Briain joked "That's it folks, the UK has finally run out of news. The storylines were getting crazier and crazier, global pandemics, divorce from Europe, novelty short-term Prime Ministers. It couldn't go on...We just couldn't be more silly than the news was already."
