Unique aerial footage of Las Vegas

This is a short aerial documentary of Las Vegas showing day and night footage shot from a helicopter. I saw this on the Sundance TV channel and was intrigued by the techniques used in shooting this footage. It looks like the cinematographer was shooting miniature models throughout, but he obviously was not. I think it has to do with the depth of focus and the type of movie camera used. The focus is extremely short and the daytime shots were taken during a very low sun angle providing very long shadows. All other aerial footage I&apos;ve seen seems to use a very wide depth of focus. I don&apos;t know if that is the only reason that this footage looks like miniatures being filmed. If you are more familiar with the techniques used in this film please leave a comment. I, for one, am very curious as to whether this footage was shot this way just to be different or what.
