"I remember watching The Big Valley as a kid and wondering why an old lady like Ms. Stanwyck would be given such a big role in a popular western. Then I learned about her past and gained a new appreciation for her and saw her with new eyes in later reruns. She is magnificent. I am now older than she was when she was making these shows and I have even greater respect for her. However... For all of Barbara Stanwyck's immense acting prowess, a hysterical Victoria is not in her wheelhouse, and wildly out of character for the matriarch of the Barkley clan. Kind of a lame ending but it could h..."
