A Good Story based on the times

Here&apos;s detective Dan Adams, finding himself as he often does in this show: in the middle of a scrape requiring his combat skills and not just because of being on a job.

The backdrop of this episode is the fall of the Batista regime and Castro&apos;s sudden rise to power. Adams is in Havana to get a great deal on a cabin cruiser...great because its owner is selling it at a sacrifice price.

There are stock &quot;revolution&quot; shots of people rioting and buildings burning to indicate the chaos and anarchy that&apos;s supposed to be going on all around. Dan&apos;s having none of that, as he wants no part of it. Plus, Dan involved in riots would mean using tearing up sets and using lots of extras, which would drive up expenses. I think it&apos;s safe to say that, given the look and small casts of the show, economy was always in mind.

Donna Martell is on hand with a plea for help to escape Cuba with her father. What happens thereafter is a little surprising...well, maybe so, anyway.

Martell and the bad guys do a competent job in their roles and Rod Cameron&apos;s Dan Adams is his usual tough but understanding self.

There&apos;s some compelling action in this one and the pacing keeps it very much worth watching. There&apos;s also an ending that is a little bit surprising, or maybe not, depending on one&apos;s point of view. All in all, one of the best episodes of this short-lived series.
