"On his twelfth birthday, Matthew Gore is visited by a strange, unearthly being that takes the form of a strange mist. 'Chocky' is inquisitive but keen to learn, too keen, pushing Matthew to the point of illness. I would have been too young to have seen this when it first aired, but I'm glad to finally see it. Kids were treated to a much higher standard of drama in the '70s and '80s; shows that thrilled and entertained.
