πŸ’‘ Did You Know?

The ruined, burned-out town of Avranches and the "winery" at the end of the episode were actually outbuildings on the ranch of cowboy star Gene Autry. The estate, comprising several hundred acres, had suffered a devastating fire; many buildings were badly damaged or destroyed and many trees and much acreage were burned. Director Burt Kennedy heard about it and made arrangements to shoot this episode at the various fire-damaged sites on the ranch, as a change from the standard French village set on the MGM lot that was usually used for such purposes.
