The original version of the pilot was titled "The Four Mrs. Buchanans," presumably because the writers overlooked their mother-in-law. The entire opening scene was reshot to quicken the pace (without Diane Racine, who is credited but did not appear in the broadcast version) and there are a few alternate variations of jokes, but the bulk of the episode remained unchanged.
