💡 Did You Know?
This episode was inspired by the 1977 New York Blackout that occurred the year before it aired. That blackout, unlike the blackouts of 1965 and 2003, was localized to New York City and included significant looting (and was specifically mentioned on the All in the Family episode "Archie and the KKK Pt. 1" (1977)).
