"At the beginning of the episode, Mannix picks up a hitchhiker. Soon, however, they encounter a roadblock and the cops seize the hitchhicker, as he's suspected of murder. Mannix has developed an instant liking for the guy and decides to investigate. Apparently, the dead man was on the verge of making a fortune for himself and others....and so the people who stood to make all this money, as well as a mobster, all appear to be innocent. And, the suspect has no motive either...which makes Mannix wonder if the man was murdered after all! This is an interesting story. My only complaint is that..."
