This episode introduces Alan&apos;s father in law Roland Gidleigh-Park played by Charles Gray. He detests Alan but is even more right wing than his son in law.

It also has Peter Sallis playing shady pub landlord Sidney Bliss. A man who used to be the public executioner. Hoping that hanging would make a return.

Alan B&apos;stard is informed by Norman that they need to to dump some nuclear waste that Alan acquired some years ago. He wants to dump it near a school but Norman would not stand for it.

So Alan decides to dump it at an old abandoned coal mine his father in law used to operate. Though the mine has secrets of its own.

I kind of guessed the twist but it was noticeable Marks and Gran has no decent Tories. Roland Gidleigh-Park is rancid South African loving money grabber.
